The site
This embankment, located above the Saint-Julien-Montdenis toll station and below the RD1006 road, covers an area of approximately 1.1 hectares. Vegetated and planted during the construction of the motorway, it consists partly of a ruderal grassland and partly of tree plantations.

Key issues
This human-made site hosts a population of early tulip. While it does not present any particular issues regarding fauna, it nevertheless offers favourable conditions for the development of certain plant species. It has therefore been selected for the reintroduction and sowing of seven plant species, whose bulbs, specimens, or seeds were collected from TELT construction sites. It requires appropriate management to support the development of these species.

Small-fruited false flax (camelina). This species is not protected, but given its unfavourable conservation status at regional and departmental levels, it has been the subject of conservation measures by TELT. A light-loving species that was once present in agricultural fields, it is now affected by modern farming practices (mechanisation, drainage, chemical pesticides, mechanical cleaning of seed stocks). Today, it is found in substitute habitats strongly influenced by human activity, such as landfills or material storage areas. It resembles flax in its growth pattern and leaves—it was even cultivated in Russia long ago for its oil—but the two species are not closely related.
